Some relationships shape your career. Others shape who you become.

For more than 15 years, SODJLA has been a foundational part of my journey as a musician and professional within the wedding industry. What began as an opportunity to perform and grow quickly became a space for mentorship, collaboration, and community.

From my earliest events to some of the most refined celebrations I’ve been a part of, SODJLA played a pivotal role in helping me understand what it means to show up professionally, consistently, and with intention in this industry.

More Than Performances — A Training Ground

Working alongside the SODJLA team taught me far more than timing and transitions. It taught me:

  • How to read a room

  • How to collaborate seamlessly with DJs, planners, and vendors

  • How to respect the flow and importance of a wedding day

  • How preparation, communication, and professionalism elevate the guest experience

Those lessons shaped my approach not only as a percussionist, but as a creative & professional partner within the larger event ecosystem.

A Community That Builds Artists

One of the most impactful aspects of SODJLA has always been the people. Being surrounded by incredibly talented, driven professionals created an environment that pushed me to raise my standards and refine my craft.

The weddings, late nights, packed dance floors, and quiet behind-the-scenes moments all contributed to a deeper understanding of what couples truly value: trust, care, and an experience that feels effortless even when it’s anything but.

Evolution, Not an Ending

While my role within SODJLA is evolving and expanding beyond the organization, this is not an ending. It’s a continuation of growth.

The partnership remains rooted in respect and shared history, and I’m grateful for the foundation that SODJLA has provided over the years. As my path expands from SO_Dholi and now Vin Rocc, I carry forward everything I’ve learned applying it to new collaborations, new experiences, and new creative opportunities within the wedding and event space.

Growth doesn’t require separation. Sometimes it simply asks for expansion.

With Gratitude

To the SODJLA team, past and present, thank you for the trust, the opportunities, and the belief over the last 15+ years. This chapter of my journey would not exist without that foundation.

As I step into this next phase, I do so with appreciation for where I’ve been, clarity about where I’m going, and excitement for what’s ahead.

Because every rhythm has a beginning and the best ones continue to evolve.
